ARCH8011 Fall Semester Material Agencies

This project focuses on functionally graded timber structures, utilizing advanced computational design, robotic milling, joinery strategies and adaptive lamination techniques to enhance timber’s structural performance and aesthetic possibilities. By exploring the unique properties of different wood species, such as density, grain orientation, and flexibility, the students are developing innovative workflows that integrate material intelligence with sustainable design strategies.
